New Announcement...Betsy Brown is now offering canvas transfers hand embellished by Betsy herself. In the canvas transfer process the Betsy Brown image of your choice is heat set on canvas, and wrapped around stretcher bars. Producing a canvas transfer is a very involved process. Special chemicals are applied which when dried form film that is separated from the paper and permanently embedded on to high quality canvas. Then the transfer is embellished with hand painted oil brush strokes by Betsy Brown to recreate the depth, texture and richness in her original artwork. Her individual attention to detail makes each canvas transfer a uinique piece of art. Unlike paper prints the lifespan of a canvas transfer is the same as an oil painting. For pricing, payment and further information contact Betsy Brown through this website.
Betsy
Brown's prints have been delighting us for years. Her
unique ability for diversity is part of her large appeal.
She can take us to the quaint towns of Yarmouth and
Asheville with their sense of family heritage. Betsy
brings us to the sultry streets of New Orleans where
one can almost hear the mellow sounds of Carmen Leggio's
tenor sax. Alluring European landscapes capture
our eyes with the way she creates the magic of distance and
the penetrating effect of color and light.
Perhaps it
is her attention to detail or the broader effect.
Whatever the reason, what touches Betsy personally seems to
affect so many others drawn to her work.
We are now pleased to present this collection of works done between 1999 and 2003. For the many who already know and respect Betsy's work this collection demonstrates the beguiling effect of her paintings. For those who will see it for the first time, we feel it will reveal confluence of clarity and imagination.
Although this website is solely for originals, her open edition prints published exclusively by Galaxy of Graphics are sold worldwide.
Many thanks to Galaxy of Graphics wonderful Art Director, Colleen Buchweitz for her insight and guidance, and her associate Christine Pratti, for her constant encouragement and patience.
